About Kay Johannsen

Kay Johannsen is an internationally sought-after and stylistically versatile organist, a creative and passionate improviser, and a choir and orchestra conductor who is as experienced as he is open to discovery. His musical centre is the Stiftskirche Stuttgart. As Stiftskantor, he directs the Stiftsmusik Stuttgart with the ensembles Stuttgarter Kantorei, solistenensemble stimmkunst, Stiftsbarock Stuttgart as well as Stiftsphilharmonie Stuttgart and the renowned concert series Stunde der Kirchenmusik. Numerous solo and ensemble CDs, published by Carus and others, document his diverse work.
