4 Questions for Mårten Jansson
If I only can pick one I do believe I need to pick when I first heard Claude Debussy’s Trois nocturnes for the first time. It was such an eye opener for me. I had never heard music composed in that way before.
The Swedish composer Mårten Jansson (b. 1965) is internationally renowned for his choral music, with works performed in prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall, Cologne Cathedral or Balmoral Estate with HRH Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles present. He has collaborated with renowned ensembles like VOCES8 and the Royal Chapel in Stockholm. Alongside composing, he teaches choral conducting and earned a PhD in composition from Aberdeen University in 2022.
